What's New

The Cordova Recreation Park District Board approved Hagan Dog Park at its Wednesday, October 14 meeting at CRPD HQ, 2197 Chase Drive in Rancho Cordova. The approved site is approximately 2 acres with both a small and large dog park area. Hagan Dog Park began construction on Monday, January 25th. When the weather is warmer, we will have a full grand opening celebration. We started discussing ideas for the celebration during our "Winter Woof Fest!" event.

Our most recent dog park committee meeting was Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 6:00pm. The location is always at the CRPD HQ at 2197 Chase Drive in Rancho Cordova in Building #3. We discussed the blue ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening for lae spring/early summer with vendors, various pet games and contests, as well as agility and K9 demonstrations. Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 16th at 6:00pm.

The Park District has begun construction on the dog park, as of the first week of February.  In late January, the Construction Manager and Sr. Landscape Architect walked the site with the contractor and got the lay out finalized.  All supplies have been ordered and most have been delivered.  The first week of February they are digging the mow strips and post holes, although it is dependant on weather.  The Construction Manger still feels confident it will be about a three week build in all.
